COMMUNIQUÉ DE CONSERVATION BAIE MISSISQUOI

En collaboration avec plusieurs groupes de citoyens du Vermont, Conservation Baie Missisquoi vous invite au 4e événement d'appui à l'enlèvement des jetées Alburg-Swanton et de Carry Bay. L'événement se tiendra encore cette année à la marina de North Hero à Pelots Point au Vermont.

Ce samedi 13 août de 12h30 à 16h00, nous pourrons entendre plusieurs conférenciers et dignitaires, dont le gouverneur du Vermont, M. Jim Douglas. Voir l'ordre du jour ci-après. Messieurs Denis Paradis et Jean Rioux nous honorerons de leur présence.

Voici l'occasion de réaffirmer notre volonté de voir réalisées ces actions concrètes visant à améliorer la qualité de l'eau de la baie Missisquoi.

Malgré l'annonce récente par les autorités du Vermont que le processus d'obtention des permis et budgets nécessaires à l'enlèvement des deux jetées est en branle, il faut continuer à démontrer que ces projets sont importants pour la population. Nous savons tous que des budgets peuvent être réalloués rapidement lorsque l'intérêt faibli.

Plus de 150 participants du Vermont et du Québec étaient présents l'an dernier et nous prévoyons encore plus de monde cette année.

There will be two large tents with lake displays, photos, projects and literature. Hot dogs and beverages will be available*.

Please join us to share your concerns, lake photos and suggestions relating to the northern part of Lake Champlain.

Directions: I-89 exit 17 to the islands. Follow Rte. 2 (21 miles) to North Hero, turn left on Station Road. (brick house on corner) Station Road is just as you enter the village of North Hero and the 1st road past Shore Acres Restaurant. Then turn right on to Pelots Point Road. North Hero Marina is at end of road.

If coming from the north, follow Rte. 2 to North Hero, take 1st right after Hero's Welcome in the Village (Station Road) then turn right on to Pelots Point Road.
