Two years after...

J'ai demandé à Robert C. Galbraith de nous livrer ses impressions deux ans après sa grève de la faim de 18 jours pour sensibiliser les médias, les gouvernements et la population au sort de la baie Missisquoi. Il m'en a fait part cette semaine, avant de partir pour un mois en Afghanistan afin d'y réaliser un photo-reportage. Je reproduis ci-après, intégralement, son message.

Robert, how do you feel today about Missisquoi Bay? Do you think people, medias and governments have understood the message you have painfully transmitted two years ago? Are you optimistic for the future?

As far as the lake and the proposed clean-up - Greed rules above the necessities of the common folk. In other words we are fucked. For example, Lise Berry is or was a committee member on Basin Versant, but she allows a speed boat regata in our bay. I hold this up as the shining example of greed and political gain (if the lake was clean then alright but this is salt in the wound). She also greenlighted illegal shoreline development all along the Venice and Jameson shoreline. Also, how can we expect those who knowingly allowed this catastrophy to build to where it is now, to clean it up, I mean the politicians. We are all being screwed by our silent voices.

So my message to those concerned at the status of the lake is that you brought it upon yourselves. There is a old say that goes; 'Don't through pearls at swine.' We the people are the swine, the politicians and their polluting friends and supporters hold all the pearls. It is time for all to act on their concious and for their childrens future. We are all peasants still living in 1950's Quebec feudalistic society. We are a society of sheep or swine - take your choice. When it all boils down in the pot, we are cowards for not stepping forward to protect pour children and our drinking water. I lay all the blame at the feet of the residents, the separatist party and the other separatist party - The Filthy Liberals. They should stand trial on the charge of crimes against the environment and the people who use that environment. Good luck citizens!!! Your on your own this time.
